Our Staff

Kye Carqueville

Owner and Director

That early appetite for enterprise grew into a career. He started his career as a junior florist at a Manly-based floristry business. In his second floristry role, he took on a management position and ran a team of 10 staff.Floristry and entrepreneurship are in Kye’s DNA. From a young age, he followed his family’s example and started in his own business growing and selling succulent plants.

Kye founded White House Flowers in October 2009 and since then has expanded the team to seven. He specialises in large corporate and event design floristry and, as a team, White House Flowers offers striking, creative arrangements for any occasion or budget.

White House Flowers is now considered the market leader on the Northern Beaches and, as such, has attracted the best local florists. In its two years of operation, this talent has been recognised with White House Flowers receiving two Northern Beaches local business awards for best florist.

Kye holds a Certificate 2 and 3 in Floristry from Ultimo TAFE, where he also completed courses in Business Management and Marketing.

Jo Jorgensen

Florist

Though only 10 years old at the time, after visiting her Godmother, a well-known London florist, and Covent Garden’s famous flower market, Jo knew she wanted to be a florist too.

She completed a floristry work experience placement at high school which confirmed her early passion and went on to achieve a Certificate 2 and 3 of Distinction in Floristry from Ultimo TAFE. Jo has worked as a florist for 12 years in Sydney and London, and studied further with a German master florist.

Jo specialises in corporate floral arrangements and sculptural wired work, understanding the specifics of technical design and tapping into her creative knack for contemporary, linear displays. Her favourite flower is the Leonardis Rose; she had over 100 of them in her wedding bouquet!

Jocelyne Mory

Florist

Adoring flowers and plants from a young age, Jocelyne spent hours in the garden with her mother and pawing through books borrowed from the school library. It was a natural progression to floristry and she has been working in the industry for the last 15 years.

Jocelyne specialises in organically-grouped, textural, earthy designs and chunky feminine posies, particularly enjoying work with colour and clashing, vibrant shades of pink. She is inspired by the start of each new season, when the distinctive flowers of that time of year start coming through, and how floristry design trends continue to evolve.

Her favourite flower is the spectacular Cymbidium Orchid, and she loves finding the occasional tree frog stowed away on tropical foliage delivered to White House which she always transfers to a nice, new wetland home.

Hannah Sherwood

Florist

Beginning her floristry career while still at high school, Hannah began washing vases and keeping a tidy shop. She now works as part of our experienced and talented floristry team, and her creations embody the modern and sophisticated floral style that White House Flowers is known for.

Hannah’s favourite flowers are Gloriosa Lillie, pineapple lilies & siam tulips and she excels at arranging a exotic and tropical creation. With a passion for fresh and inspiring combinations, she particularly enjoys the possibilities of form, colour and texture presented in the spring and Summer seasons.

Jessie Carey

Florist

Jessie’s passion for fauna was first evident growing up on the north NSW coast where she regularly made arrangements of wild flowers for her family. Before pursuing floristry, she studied fashion design, gaining an advanced diploma in fashion design and worked for clothing labels in Sydney, Melbourne and Indonesia.

She then travelled through Africa and Europe, developing an appreciation for colour, contour and texture, particularly inspired by the dainty floral designs of boutique shops lining the cobbled streets of Paris.

Jessie’s favourite flowers are Passion fruit flowers, poppies and hellebore she has rapidly shown a flair for putting together stylish, colourful floral arrangements.
